Tips for DIY AC Repair
If your air conditioning isn’t working, don’t panic. Even if you’re not an expert, you may be able to fix it yourself. Here are a few AC repair tips to try.
One problem that can cause your air conditioning to stop working is a clogged drain. When a drain is clogged, it can cause a safety switch to flip, which turns your AC off.
You can unclog a leak using a long, thin tool so that the water flows freely and your AC starts working again.
Electrical issues can also prevent an AC system from doing its job. If you check your circuit breaker box, you may notice that the switch is stuck in a halfway position between on and off. If this is the case, turn the switch all the way off and then all the way on.
Your thermostat could also be the culprit behind your faulty AC. Luckily, there are many videos on YouTube demonstrating how you can check your thermostat for problems and fix it if you notice that something is wrong.
In many cases, air conditioning issues are fairly simple to solve on your own. However, if none of the above tips solve the problem with your AC, don’t hesitate to call a professional to repair it.
