How to Decorate Your House for Fall
As the temperature falls, fall decorating is one of the best ways to make your home cozy and welcoming. Giving your home a seasonal makeover doesn’t have to be expensive, either. Start with these ideas to get your family comfortable for the cooler months.
When walking into a room, one of the first things we notice is the smell.
Spice up your living room with candles in fall-themed scents like cinnamon, leaves, cedar, and suede. These scents bring warmth to the air that will have you springing for the blankets. Blankets, of course, are decorations all on their own. Put out a knitted throw blanket to add texture and softness to the room.
It’s also important to consider all of the flat surfaces in the home. Bookshelves, coffee tables, countertops, and window sills are all great locations for some additional autumn motifs. Artificial leaves, acorns, pinecones (scented or otherwise), and pumpkins (real, wicker, or fabric) are just the beginning. Imagine what autumn means to you and your family. Is it all about spooky skeletons or toasty apple cider? Keep your home a reflection of yourselves, and it will be cozy and welcoming regardless, but there’s always room for improvement.
